# Booking taught as a prep problem, and the first lesson with inputs only he can supply

Lesson 4 (31 Aug 2026, Pud Pud 4+1) covers the booking appointment — the next thing on their calendar (window **27 Sep–25 Oct 2026**) and the first appointment where Greg's role is on the record.

Unlike Lessons 1–3, this one is framed as **preparation, not knowledge**: the win is walking in with the screening decisions already made and his own family medical history written down. That is deliberate — it is the first lesson where the homework can only be done by him (paternal family history, ancestry for the family origin questionnaire), and it converts him from attendee to participant.

## Design decisions worth remembering
- **The "you will be asked to leave the room" fact** is this lesson's shoulder-tip pain: high-value, low-recognition, counter-intuitive, and it prevents a real failure mode (taking routine domestic-abuse screening personally in front of the midwife). Same slot in the design as L3's shoulder-tip pain, and it quizzes well.
- **FW8 → maternity exemption certificate** included because it is free money nobody offers you, and it ties back to the Lesson 2 money thread. Explicitly contrasted with the MATB1 (20 Dec 2026) since two forms is exactly where he'd conflate.
- **Screening framed as "what would we do with the result?"** rather than a description of the tests. He responds to decisions, not to explanations.
- **Spacing continued**: quiz interleaves the L3 shoulder-tip/ectopic question. Keep doing this every lesson.
- **Self-referral called out as a hard gate** in a warning callout. It has been outstanding since Lesson 1 and blocks everything in this lesson; the combined-screening cut-off at 14+1 weeks gives it a real deadline rather than a nag.

## Ad-hoc question answered
He asked how much water Hannah should be drinking — folded into the lesson as §4 rather than answered only in chat, since hydration links to three things already taught (hyperemesis threshold, UTI risk, constipation). Answer: ~1.6–2 L/day total fluid, all drinks count, judge by pale-straw urine rather than counting glasses, caffeine capped at 200 mg/day. Pattern to keep: his ad-hoc questions become a section of the current lesson.

## Naming
He asked that Hannah be called **Pud Pud**. Applied in Lesson 4 prose; earlier documents left as they are.
